Paradise Resort is situated on Kentucky Lake, one of the world's
largest artificial lakes. The lake was created in 1944 when the
Tennessee River was dammed by Kentucky Dam at Gilbertsville. Kentucky
Lake today is 160,000 acres of fishable water, with the Tennessee River bed
serving at the main channel of the lake. Kentucky Lake produces some
of the best fishing in the south. You'll find crappie, largemouth and
smallmouth bass, white bass, striped bass, sauger, and catfish.
Paradise Resort is also near Blood River, a
large inlet of Kentucky Lake that provides seclusion from the main waters
and excellent fishing opportunities. Lots of stumps, old foundations,
and culverts can be found in both Blood River and the main waters of
Kentucky Lake, which are excellent fish attractors.
Record catches of largemouth and smallmouth
bass have been caught in the waters near Paradise Resort! We have
fishing guides available for those that want to learn more about the sport
or to get familiarized with the lake. Spring and fall offer the very
best in fishing, while the summer months are good for blue gill and stripes.
